JD-Doria

About

Born 1961, interdisciplinary artist, lives and works in Israel.

Maturing into painting, coagulates a background in Cinema and Stage Art with a love for writing, combined with years of study and experimental research into territories of human thought and metaphysics, and on the overall an autodidactic approach to life.

As of today I can say that my art begins with a singular state of mind, emotive flow and the growing relation with the substances I chose to work with, more then with image, form or message, which in my work are emergent.
My techne follows a disposition of Action Painting and Zen Calligraphy, using the sign, however produced, as basic unit.

The work is a monograph that captures motion across an abstract space of possibilities, translating it into a particular proportion of Chaos and Order, reflected by the composition of signs, colors and textures and looking at the open ended nature of life.

Through my Art I wish to serve an access to an ambiguous and dynamic line between self and ‘other’, between certain and unknown, between the human and it self, carving the possibility for a new perspective.

My recent work reflects a growing interest in the ‘Future’, and in a radical ‘reading’ of Aesthetic. I do find and suggest a tightly coupled correlation between Aesthetic and the Future, as a means of arriving to a better and sane future.
